   Bulgaria is a beautiful country and deserves to be recognised for it’s Mountain regions, beautiful Heritage Villages, cities as much as it is currently for it’s Black Sea resorts. It is a hidden gem amongst the countries of Europe. People who visit Bulgaria always want to go back, attracted as they are by the country, the people, the cost of living and the way of life. Bulgaria also boasts wonderful mountain regions, perfect for Eco-Tourism opportunities. The winter ski resorts of Borovets and Pamovero are well know to skiers. The Bulgaria Government, in an effort to boost tourism, is investing heavily to improve the ski resorts and develop new ones. Ski season is, in general, from December through to beginning of April. These ski resorts are also perfect holiday destinations during the summer for activity based mountain holidays. The largest beach resort is Sunny Beach, just north of Burgas, which has been completely remodelled over the past three years. What's the weather in Bulgaria if we want to live in there for some months?

Generally summers are longer and warmer (and guaranteed) whilst the winters are shorter but can be more severe. The Black Sea coast is less cold in the winter and rarely sees snow. For 5 months (May - September) average temperatures are 25 degrees Celsius and often above in the peak summer period.

  Direct international flights are available to Sofia, Varna, Burgas all year round. Direct charter flights to the Black Sea (Varna/Burgas) are available during the spring/summer months and can be booked through local UK travel agents.Balkan Air Tour is the flag-carrier. It flies to more than fifty destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Apart from scheduled international flights, there are charter flights for tourists in winter and summer. Domestic services are available to the Black Sea ports of Varna and Bourgas.

Have I any investment opportunity if I choose Bulgaria and purchase a property there?

  Bulgaria is turning into the hottest property market in Europe. It has been interesting to see the development and recognition of the market over the past months.The number of agents and developments has also increased dramatically. The choice of client is now wider than ever, both from development and the choice of agents. Be careful out there with the choice of agents. The most important questions are – do they know the market and are they direct agents for large, well established developers.
The investment opportunity of Bulgaria is great. It has currently for capital appreciation and low cost of entry. Current average cost per square meter of 800-1200 Euro for key developments in Sunny Beach, Golden Sands, Bansko and Sofia will also result in good gains over the next 12-24 months.

What do you think about investment in the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia?

  With 1.7 m people and less than 5% unemployment, the capital of Bulgaria is developing very quickly. There are amazing changes in the city over the past four years. Of, course, not perfect by any means with parking and general roads / pavements the main problems. As capital of the country and with the number of office / business parks currently in construction we can only expect the rental market to expand rapidly.

What do you think about investment in the ski resorts?

  Bansko is a lovely old town that attracts tourists in winter and summer. Sure, Bansko is the best developed of the 3 resorts but, the one where most money will be invested over the next 3 years. Only 2 hours from Sofia and a great jazz festival during August every year. Borovets is starting to get the second apartment developments and Pamporovo is the most exclusive of all the ski resorts and very beautiful.

What do you think about investment in country areas?

  Bulgaria is a very large country with lowest level of new births in Europe and mass exodus to the main cities. Probably the most beautiful countryside in Europe with breathtaking landscapes. Buy in country areas if you never want to rent. Houses can be very cheap but, please check the area first.
